Getting Started…
Starting your dancing journey couldn’t be easier!
We teach Ballroom & Latin Dancing in a number of venues around northern and mid Essex with classes ranging from complete beginner all the way up to our Advanced Class for Children and Adults.
When getting started, our Beginner’s Class is the way to go! Our Beginner Courses are on Wednesday evenings in Witham each week and run for every Wednesday in that month.
All our Beginner Courses are specially designed to be suitable for a complete beginners as if you have never danced as step in your life before.

This June, we will be teaching the Rumba. The Rumba is a beautiful, slow, latin dance that provides plenty of time to be planning your next move. It has quickly repeating basics which makes it a great dance for Beginners to get on with. You'll be Rumba-ing from week 1!
This Beginner Course will be teaching the Rumba from the very beginning.
(3rd, 10th, 17th, 24th June)
Starlight Dancing is led by Christopher Burrell and Emma Burgess, who competed at the highest level of international dancesport — reaching the quarter-finals of the 2016 WDSF World Ten Dance Championships in Riga, Latvia, representing England under the IOC's only recognised dancesport governing body. They have also performed alongside Strictly Come Dancing professionals on BBC-partnered P&O cruises.
But world-level competition experience only matters if it makes you a better teacher. At Starlight, we measure our success differently - by the number of people who walked through our door convinced they couldn't dance, and left with a skill they've kept for life. Our teaching is patient, non-judgmental and built entirely around helping social dancers feel confident, comfortable and genuinely enjoy every step of the journey.
