SEQUENCE REFRESHER CLASS

From February to August 2023 we ran our very popular Sequence Class where many of our dancers learnt a variety of Sequence Dances and this new monthly class is the perfect time to practice those dances in!
What is Sequence Dancing?
Sequence Dancing is to dance the most popular Ballroom and Latin dances to a set sequence that will repeat itself every 16 bars. Everyone who gets up to dance, does the same thing at the same time.
Sequence Dancing is a popular addition to all our Social Events so there will be even more opportunities to get up on the floor!
What dances will this class cover?
This class is mainly designed to be used as an aid to provide you with an opportunity to cement in the below dances. We will not be going over these dances in great detail unless the whole class needs it!

Sequence Dances We Will Be Revising
"IF YOU DON’T USE IT, YOU LOSE IT!"
We hold our Saturday Night Socials each month so you can ensure you get regular opportunities to practice your newly found skills in!
We also hold a Practice Night every Friday evening and although we won’t be playing specific sequence dances at our practice night, you are most welcome to practice in the routines at your own leisure.
Reasons to Sequence Dance
-
Learn new groups that you may not have learnt yet and add them to your repertoire in your normal Ballroom and Latin routines!
-
Sequence Dances are by nature, short. They consist of 16 bars of music before they repeat which ensures you get plenty of practices per dance played.
-
In Sequence Dancing, everyone starts at the same time dancing the same groups so there shouldn’t be so much need for dodging people on the floor.
-
One of the fantastic quirks of Sequence Dancing is that leaders always start every sequence dance with their left foot!
…but which left foot?….
-
Even if you are developing your personal routines with new groups, Sequence Dances will always stay the same (with an occasional embellishment added in)
